I can say this with all sincerity, my son who is 16 and is playing at the high school level would not create a situation that would create that bullshyt. BUT IF HE DID lose his mind for 10 secs, I can say that anybody that said that they would fukking kill him would see me for a serious come to Jesus meeting that would end in violence. fukk your school and that scholarship, you can always go DII/JUCO and transfer back into DI. I grew up playing football in Georgia and I can say that these sexually repressed mutherfukkers know who they can and cannot step to. They would never try a booster's kid like that and/or a kid with a pops in the stands that has no problem catching his ass by the bus. They always try/make an example of those kids from single parent homes where they can run that ' but Ms. Jones, YOU chose not to give him a father figure. SOMEBODY has to instill values in him.'bullshyt by them.

I've had crazy coaches and seen my fair share of opposing team's coaches go on tirades. I had a soccer coach from Serbia (a very war torn country) who I was almost sure has killed a man in his lifetime. He said some shyt that would demoralize a player usually commenting on his abilities. He kicked the shyt out of my achilles on a soccer play and threw me into a goalpost once which he could play off as just playin with us in practice but never said anything like this. It's probably more common in football but this is very unprofessional and if a coach got caught sayin it like this guy, I'd expect some action

I stand corrected on the concept that he tried this boy because he comes from a bad home. His parents are divorced but his dad is ex-FBI. The possibilities in this are endless.

he just had a temper and I was a good defender so he'd be tryna show us how he wants us to play in practice and I'd rip the ball from him a few times and he'd take his frustrations out on me lol I never made it a thing cuz he was prolly the best coaches I've ever had

Breh I can't tell you how many times i've encountered this. shyt didnt even phase me after a while.

No disrespect but that sound like pu$$y behavior ... not sayin you pu$$y ... but the behavior . Ive been called a lot of shyt by coaches, but never told I'd be killed.

If i ever have a son and he's a sports player... imma tell him if if his coach ever threatens him and/or puts hands on him... go IN ... and call me afterward so I can go IN. Not a game. We dont play like that.

When people came 2 or 3 minutes late to practice he'd just look at em and tell em they're runnin around the whole big ass complex until practice is over. It was always a mind game with him, like you'd have to think about every little thing you did in practice and anticipate what would piss him. I'm talking about like if you came late and weren't courteous enough to apologize to the team or come see him as soon as u showed up or skipped stretching and jumped right into the drills, you'd prolly be running the complex for 2 hours and definitely losing your spot in the starting lineup if u were a starter or he'd just flat out sent your ass home. But it was just tough love and he instilled a lot of discipline in us.

The funniest thing was when this really shytty dude came up to him senior year of high school asking him if he could contact college coaches for him to get a tryout. The kid asking was so bad that someone passed him a ball in the air and he tried to run with it and catch it in stride and it hit off his back cuz he didn't keep his eye on it. Coach just pulled him aside and was like "Listen Ryan, I could do all these things for you but that would mean I think you're good enough to play at the next level. I'd be lying if I said that. I think you're wasting your time"

There was a season where he was bein extra hard on the shytty players and we had like 2 or 3 quit and ended up with only 11 players for a whole season. Everybody played all 90 minutes of every game cuz of that. I was in the best shape I'll prolly ever be in life

Man... the more I think about this shyt... the more it fukks with me... I've been coached by the most street of the street coaches. Borderline wino coaches with felonies on 'em, working hard labor who played a lil' ball in high school and were employed by the Rec League to help get us to the state rec. championship. Africans NEVER threatened us like that. And this pampered Euro got the audacity to say some shyt like that? Euro needs to get fire slapped the shyt outta him. Fukk these entitled a$$ coaches. You never had a mother or father tell you that they bought u in this word and they will take you out? Essentially saying they will kill you. Its the same shyt. This coach that told me that he would kill me is still in my life til this day. He and 2 other coaches were father figures to me. I didn't "go in" because he wasn't just some punk off the street telling me this over some trivial shyt. He was clearly telling me this this because I wasn't giving my best and listening to his coaching when he was calm.

Trust me, one of the most frustrating things in life is to watch someone with true potential waste their talent by being lazy and hardheaded. It can drive you mad. If I (or this kid who got yelled at) was some regular kid playing for my JV team then yeah, its a different story. Its not as serious. But the higher up the totem pole, the more serious people take this sport.

This coach wasn't wrong. And wouldn't be "wrong" if he wasn't caught. This kid is still a kid, even in college. And unless your parents pack up and move to the city where whatever college you go to play ball for, then the closest thing you have to a parent in that environment is a coach. Thats why its critical to know what kind of coach you're getting involved with before you commit to a school. Thats why so many kids transfer once the coach decides to leave. And if I did some punk ass shyt or some unsportsmanlike shyt like that, and it pissed my parents off, they would've reacted the same way.
