The problem with summer for gamers is that they have all the time in the world to sit on the couch with a controller in hand, yet most studios tend to avoid those three months when it comes to releasing new titles. Thankfully, we've got stuff like the PSN Summer Sale to keep us busy, offering 11 downloadable games at deep discounts starting next Tuesday.

The PSN Summer Sale kicks off July 3, offering nearly a dozen games at 30 percent off for everyone, or 50 percent off for PlayStation Plus members. The available games litterally span the spectrum, offering a little something for everyone, no matter what their taste. These offers will be good through July 9 so, if anything catches your eye, you might want to move with a quickness. Once the PlayStation Store has its regular update next Tuesday, just head on in, look for the Summer Sale 2012 tab, and start downloading some fantastic games at a fraction of their regular price.

For additional details, check out the PlayStation Blog. Otherwise, let's check out those games.

For starters, the online shooter with a goofy twist, Gotham City Imposters will be marked down to $10.49 for the promotion or $7.34 for Plus members.

Arcade sports fans will enjoy NBA Jam: On Fire Edition for $10.49, or $7.34 for Plus Members. If you're in need of adventure on a grand scale Shadow of the Colossus will be available for just $13.99, or $9.79 for Plusers.

Cole McGrath to action in inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood for $6.99 or $4.89 for Plus while uubershooter Crysis will be priced $13.99 and $9.79 respectively.

The shooting can continue with Killzone 3 Multiplayer for $10.49/$7.39, or you puzzling types can enjoy Closure for $10.49/$7.34.

The full season (Five episodes) of adventure game Jurassic Park: The Game can be had for $13.99 on sale or $9.79 for Plus while strategic party frag-a-thon Worms Ultimate Mayhem can be downloaded for $10.49 regular or $7.34 for Plus.

Finally, robot boxing title Reel Steel can be yours for $6.99/$4.89 while Move-empowered shooter The House of the Dead III will be going for $4.89/$3.42.

Does anybody know why PS+ never has any sales on the memberships like XBox Live does?

You can get Live subs for 35 for the year, but I've never seen PS+ cheaper than 50. Why? WHY?

:why:

After playin' awhile, I kinda forgot about it. The gameplay and graphics are tight. No custom soundtracks though :shaq2:

Or maybe I have now only 1 ps3, 2 wii's, and 4 xbox 360's :eat:
But you know, if you feel better about your situation by making up shyt about what I don't have? Alrighty then. Your mattress, how long you had that bad boy? Because you can't really clean your mattress. You can clean a stain on the outside, but you can't stop all the dead skin particles that actually go INTO your mattress. My current bed is about 1 month old, you sleepin on basically a dead body that was shredded to tiny little particles.
You sleepin on a graveyard buddy :rip: :snooze: :rip:

So instead of paying $35 you'd rather have a more lag filled experience and bootleg features they tried to emulate from xbox? On the xbox side, we get DLC first, we get ESPN, CableTV for those who don't have tuners  Magna app which has like any Anime for free. Epix/Crackle is basically Redbox FOR FREE, UFC in 1080p (cable only does 1080i)
If saving $35 is that important to you, then how do you afford games?
