got my PS5 a cpl days ago from Walmart+, calmest $13 I ever spent was delivered 2 weeks earlier than the estimated time too

I tried telling folks before. Walmart has held it down this season My ps5 came 5 days after I ordered a few weeks ago even though the estimate was for next Tuesday.

Finally got an email from Playstation inviting me to an event tomorrow to buy a PS5. Anyone do these before and is it a clusterfukk like buying one from Walmart?

Not at all as you're only competing with the people who got that particular invitation as well. Open up the page about an hour before the drop and you should get in within a few minutes when it starts.

I did what you suggested (open up the page an hour before), got on queue right away when the event started and took 7 minutes from when it started to secure an order. Thanks for the heads up on what to do

I honestly think it cost more to make both systems and Microsoft would rather sell Series S for now till the cost eventually lowers

Sony was projecting to sell more ps5s than ps4s, which the PS4 sold a record amount itself and more than xb1. So it makes since why there’d be more ps5s in supply.
