Just sold my last two PS5s for $925 a piece to the same person.
Only got one Xbox Series X left to sell but that doesn’t come until 12/23. Hoping to find a place where I can get another successful order that arrives sooner and cancel the 12/23 one. I’m retired from the console hustle after that
It’s been a fun and lucrative ride though.
Then it’s back to playing all my outdated fun PC games on my various emulators

Right now people are holding out because there will be restocking soon. That's well known, what isn't clear to the masses is how much? The info is out there, and these things will be hard to get until next year. So after black friday expect the frenzy to commence. The height of hype comes the weeks leading into Xmas.
The logic you discussed previously applies every year except launch system years.

Just hold on till Christmas .
squaretrade will let you buy a warranty after the fact...got one from them for a new PS3 I picked up off ebay earlier in the year

Sold it for $840 already. Guy would have paid $900 but I liked his approach to my price so I offered him less than the $900 I posted it for. I still made a profit and he paid less than somebody else would have charged him.
