Didn't Microsoft buy Obsidian off the back of their catalogues being literally this? But somehow because it's an expected mid-point when talking about Insomniac, the same people that were doing victory laps off of the purchase of MachineGames and Obsidian - studios known for this exact kind of content - are acting like they don't know how a game exists that isn't meant to be 40+ hours.
Meanwhile, 99% of the things on Gamepass don't amount for 40+ hours of content, and the 1% that do are Starfield and Grounded.
This is just so see-through at this point it isn't even interesting to engage with anymore. You cannot have legitimate discourse with people so gripped by a character they are trying to play that they are disingenuous out the gate
Over here acting brand fukking new like there weren't half-entries to Wolfenstein. Like New Vegas isn't literally this formula executed to maximum efficiency. Like they ain't sit here and see Lost Legacy be made and say nothing. But somehow it's 'half a game' because it's... not intended to be as long as the mainline entries but uses the work already done to get more game out of that work.
Like this isn't exactly what TOTK started off as. Like this ain't all Avowed will ever be when it releases - a 'partial game' that doesn't even have a full-length older brother to crib from.

No nikka, no one played Mario, sonic or any other mainstream game and was expecting a spin off or sequel, and for it to be smaller and cheaper.
Dudes expected a full fledged gaming experience with each and every game bought or rented.
And the only game that came close to this situation at all back in the day was sonic and knuckles.
