I know this is y’all’s deflection, but ultimately it proves the authors point.
Majority of people playing on a PlayStation consoles are not playing Sony developed games.
They get a couple big moments/games per gen but ultimately those are forgotten and people go on to consistently play other stuff.
You stans and the gaming media like to act like these few games are all that matters, but in the real world most people dgaf

Nah, it's a dumb argument and only dumb folks feel that it's of anything of merit. Either that or they're trying to sell you something, which in this case is a false, dumb narrative.
It's like saying that people don't watch movies anymore because they watch tv shows for a greater timespan than movies, whilst overlooking the obvious fact that a tv series length is like 10-20+ times longer than any movie. Binge watching Breaking Bad doesn't mean that The Godfather is now forgotten.

It's not like Sony is putting out sports games and online shooters. So if you're going to tell me which games are being played for longer periods of time, it's going to always be the ones the have modes that continue on forever. Not the ones with a straight story and game over.
To imply that Sony users HAVEN'T played the game because they are not STILL playing the game, is misleading at best

Everything else it's 3rd party
Clearly 1st party games matter to a certain extent.
But a company could technically never release a 1st party game and if they managed to have the best system for 3rd party games or some other reason or reasons to have people play and purchase their system they could do just fine.
