Yea the really cheap devices are out there... They don't record in HD though, but you can still get good quality.

You need a capture card... The cheapest Brand is a Dazzle, which is made by Pinnacle. Google search Dazzle Video Recorder and go to their site.

You gotta plug your Ps3 into your ipad and send the audio and video into the ipad... Im not familiar with ipad so if you can somehow do that then you are in business but I dont think there is an input on an ipad for a component cable.
