Funny thing is he basically said he cant beat fighters like Algieri in the post fight interview
Viktor Postol, Maurico Herrera, and Chris Algieri might 3-0 him (Hererra and Algieri already beat him)
Only way Provodnikov can beat you is if he KOs you...that's it. He cant box or move his head
It was so odd that he said that, because although I feel Algieri won clearly, there was nothing in that fight that showed me that Provodnikov could not beat Algieri. Not only do I feel Ruslan can beat Algieri, I think he can decision him. Algieri can be knocked down & out worked, which is what really should have happened.
You know how Teddy Atlas always says that early knockdowns are some of the worst things that can happen to a fighter? I remember thinking this watching it live. It was like Ruslan was on cruise control the rest of the fight & completely unaware he was losing rounds. He stopped doing the things that earned him the knockdowns. That's not Algieri's problem though. Algieri was a warrior & grinded it out.
