Nah, wrestling will never have another boom period. It's thriving, yes, but it ain't gonna pop up more than that. Even with ESPN and other news outlets covering it, nothing will change. :ld:
It won't have a boom mainly because the leading company WWE is failing at many things. Creative is horrendous and Coke Boy hasn't caught up to the reality that this is not 1995 and every idea he has is no longer genius e.g. "Roman Reigns is the next Hulk Hogan". Unless Creative actually writes significantly better and way, way better matches get booked and Vince wakes up - it'll never boom like how we saw it boom because WWE ultimately is the benchmark and there's no WCW part 2 coming, there's no genuine competition that can go mainstream in the West.

nah I don't see it.

but we are possibly in the midst of a golden era for serious wrestling fans. this has definitely been a golden summer

I don't see a wrestling boom poppin off tho. there aren't any transcendant stars, and theres only one promotion that the casuals fans & that the non-wrestling fans know about.

you can say that an indie boom is going on tho.

Tna or whatever is called will be out of business in 5 years. Mark my words brehs

people have been saying this since 2002.

ive never seen another company where people wished for its demise since day one, just for the hell of it.

Why would Bones do Roh/NJ but not the E.

better yet, why would bones go to the WWE?

bob sapp didn't.
tank abbot didn't.
dan severn was just there for the cornette/NWA storyline.
matt riddle didn't thus far.
etc etc

only ones that the WWE signed were shamrock & rousey.

is wrestling still popular?

I still think it’s insanely popular, there are always countless wrestling related memes trending on social media every day... they just have absolutely nothing to do with anything past 2002.

all the old legends from the 80s, the guys from the attitude era... all still huge names that ppl remember fondly and continue to celebrate. old school wrestling shirts are borderline trending in certain circles as we speak.

there is still a love for pro wrestling, there’s just nobody doing it well right now so nobody cares. when something worthwhile goes down people will start paying attention again.

It's never gonna boom like the 90s or 80s again but I'm interested to see how this WWE on FOX things works out and if they'll get more viewers and TRY to be creative and how ROH/NJPW do in a couple years.
Also if IMPACT keeps the momentum up and keep putting on great shows they'll start to regain some legitimacy.
