No, they have to take a backseat. Seeing what they’re asking for is basically a retrospective to try to repair the relationship, it is not an unreasonable ask.

The problem? We have gigantic domestic issues that we literally did not have before January 20 of this year and they contributed to it. This is not to shame people who voted with their hearts because of an ongoing genocide, but they chose to throw a grenade, and in some cases embrace the destruction that it would bring vis-à-vis Trump.

Without some luck, democracy is finished. If side lining them folks on something or world away is what is necessary to focus on fixing what is wrong here, they are gonna have to spend their time asking Trump because that’s exactly what a bunch of them were threatening.

Eh, one has something to do with deporting folks from here back to a warzone. This particular thread is covering Pro-Palestine groups basically wanting Democrats to run it back and analyze where the relationship went wrong (which is their right.)

I wasn't in that thread long so I don't know how it went BUT these are different situations, but one was a contributing factor for the other. Trump won and now everybody is going to go through the misery that a ton of people said "wasnt enough" when Democrats were warning about it all damn summer. Democrats are about to be fighting for basic democracy, fukk a foreign lands issue.

I say that not to be flippant, but imagine your extended families house is on fire. You can side with the volunteers who might suck at their jobs but are willing to fight your fire and everyone elses at a marginal rate. Then you have the other guy who has a fukking blowtorch and while he did not set your families house on fire, 4 years earlier he tried to burn yours down. You want the fire fighters to focus on your extended families house fire because they supplied the matches to whomever decided to set it alight and are willing to gamble the arsonist being able to take over the situation and set your house and everyone elses on fire while turning your families house into a parking lot. We got the arsonist. Folks will be more concerned rebuilding the homes in our zipcode rather than the one across town.
