What pisses me off of how the “tangibles” crowd doesn’t understand this. Republicans don’t need a reason not to vote. Democrats keep looking for reasons to vote.

They do understand that, they're just Republicans and favor Republicans winning.

They'll still vote for him...or at least most will. But the moderates and independents who determine races will likely be swayed enough for Warnock to win. This is bad and it got worse when his son confirmed everything. He can't just hide for a month, and if he attacks the media for a month it'll only look worse. Plus at this point local media will be working to confirm the story, the woman might come forward with more information (she claims she's been talking to him recently, and he said he didn't know her) etc. What happens when she reveals messages from him? I guess he can claim he technically didn't lie because the Daily Beast doesn't include her name but....once you get into the "I don't know her" game as a man any hint of not telling the truth will screw you lol.

If I was advising Walker I would have denied the story but demanded she be revealed instead of blatantly saying "I've never met her." Because the next step of this is gonna be her revealing herself and whatever correspondence she has (allegedly) had with him.

None of what you're talking about matters.

They already know he did it, and that he's generally not qualified. It doesn't matter to Republican voters at all, a Republican seat is a Republican seat. GOP politicians generally don't eat each other the way people on the left do.

And there's really no such thing as independents. Vast majority of people always vote (D) or always vote (R). The thing that wins elections is which side has better turnout, not the tiny percentage of people who might change their vote.

All these people are being lined up for a massive L when the inevitable other shoe drops.

@acri1 this isn't true. Every state has a group of voters who shift. We saw this in Georgia quite recently when both republican senate candidates got torpedo'd by independent voters according to exit polls, during the run-off election that elected Warnock and Ossoff. And we'll see it a month from now. In a tight race within the 2-3 margin of error, a shift in turnout OR independent sentiments will change the race. I'm not guaranteeing Warnock wins but if he does it'll largely be due to what happened yesterday and what will likely happen in the coming days/weeks as Hershel digs deeper.
