Thats not what I'm saying at all. The companies that are anti-DEI are saying "we don't give a fukk about equity for black people at all"So you’re saying that last week, all these companies were pro Black because they had DEI programs, and now they’re not?
Can you please tell me why it’s a problem, asking for details and transparency for what they say they’re doing for Black people?
The companies that are still pro-DEI are saying "we still care about presenting that we care about equity for black people"
In the midst of a time period where it is financially incentivized to remove DEI related things if a company is staunchly supporting their DEI programs then they are actually trying to show they give a fukk.
Companies that remove it are saying fukk your shyt we were doing this for money. We don't care.
No large company is "pro-black" unless their target demographic consists entirely of black people. They are instead pro-equity meaning they acknowledge the systematic disadvantages oppressed groups receive and take steps to even the playing field so we can obtain our fair share. That is all. That's what the E in DEI stand for.
Asking for extra stats on a company's pro blackness on whether to shop at a company that's supports DEI vs ones who say "fukk the racism you deal with, it doesn't exist" is asinine. The companies are kinda spelling it out for you.
Your line of thinking would be fine say after the death of George Floyd when every company was trying to take advantage of the situation and present as DEI because it was profitable. But right now even presenting as DEI without actually having the statistics to back it up is a form of protest in our favor.
Does that make more sense? You're not wrong for doing so but it's just unnecessary scrutiny and missing the bigger picture.
