Pernell's heart and chin was the only thing keeping him from losing fights in his later years. Tito was beating him from pillar to post. That was Sweet Pea's only "real" loss.

Had Pernell had a Roy Jones chin at the end of his career, Trinidad would have knocked him the fukk out. shyt, Hurtado might have even stopped him

Pretty much. Hurtado dropped him twice hard and was winning that fight. Pea put the rest of his career into that mega punch he landed to change things.

And If nikkas want an example of a smaller defensive guy giving a bigger and stronger boxer problems, Bryd/Vitali is a much better example. Vitali was rightfully winning until the stoppage, but he never hurt a smaller dude that came in on short notice. Plus his connect rate dropped down to like 24%. Big Bro missed a bunch, was countered, and was hit a bunch of times on the ropes, and was even backing up during the bout. Bryd at least won 3 rds to me and was coming on strong, but cats always talk like Vitali was beating dude pillar to post before he quit.

But you got guys rewriting history and acting like Sweet Pea was out boxing Tito for intervals at a time and making a bunch of rounds close. :mjlol:
