The price is a little high for the cover no doubt. But I think they had to price it high in order to make the 3rd parties happy, which is a mistake in my opinion.

let's be real is gonna flop. they should have said fukk the third party :beli:

I'm fairly certain it won't flop, though I think sales will be inferior to the Surface Pro. The digitizer pen and the full Windows 8 experience in a tablet form will be unbeatable IMHO.

After reviewing all angles, I agree the pricing on this thing is seriously flawed. This thing should have been targeted at young people/college crowd and should have began selling at $299.

The surface pro could most definitely start higher though. With the Galaxy Nexus, the Fire HD, and the Apple Mini coming out at a cheaper price point and offering similar features, the pricing on this thing could hurt it in the long run.

I'm actually considering buying that 32gb Nexus on the 23rd when it's released.:ehh:

Don't care what y'all say...the pro version will be >>>>>>>>>>>>>>every other tablet...that's what I'm waiting for. I'd take windows rt over droid tabs tho to be honest..less apps and all. There's not a lot of differentiation between droid tabs and droid phones tbh.

We'll see what happens. I think windows tabs in general are going to do better than what peeps in here are expecting though. Price wasn't the ONLY reason touchpad and droid tabs failed miserably ...it was tablet apps...build quality...battery..and os efficiency in general. Droid tabs had a very weak first impression that was lasting...touchpad was weak across the board stock in comparison to the pad (minus a few base features of the os).

Side by side this Windows RT tab will be far superior to the competitors, but the fact that it is priced significantly higher than the competitors will be a major hinderance IMHO. The Surface Pro will sell like gangbusters, provided its not priced too highly.

...but..windows pro tabs will be priced like higher end laptops..if you expecting those to be cheap...god bless you.

I dont mind..because its a full PC experience when you need it to be..its going to be the best of both worlds.

I enjoyed my iPad 3 but it was a placeholder til a full windows PC tab dropped that gave me the speed and intuitiveness of the iPad.

IPad does have the app game on LOCK currently.....but that's tablet apps...I don't mind a little shortage of tablet apps when I can use full windows apps with the click of a button on my tab :eat:

After much debate, I went ahead and preorderd the 64gig Windows RT with the Touch Cover. I'll use it and see how it works. I'll likely sell it and cop the Pro once that comes out though.

Its clear MS did this to appease the third party manufacturers. Thats the only explanation for that price. They are trying to get Win 8 to be for tablets what all previous Windows OSs have been for laptops and desktops in the past. If they could sell people on Win 8 both on tablets and PC's they'd be rolling in cash and would hurt Apple's iOS and Google's Android at that the same time. But that is a lofty feat to pull off. I wish them luck. They'll need it.

They will..just wait and see.

Im waiting on the Pro Version myself but I have to say, the pricing is a little high, and coming from Australia...add another $100-150 dollars on top of that and thats what it'll sell for here. A bit ridiculous IMO, but I think the Surface Pro will be worth it.
