How these third world country born negros don't even think they're black?

Precisely because they don't interact with any cacs. If everyone in the country has the same skin colour what use is identifying by colour :why:. Somalia is probably the most homohenous country in Africa.

You're imposing Western concepts and experiences on Africans. People there identify by tribe.

Is he lying tho? Only countries with large number of non-natives e.g South Africa do ppl do colour ID. You ask a Kenyan in Kenya what he is and do you think he will say black lmao? He will say Luo, Kikuyu etc

Is that not the case everywhere in africa?
No not at all. Asking someone what they are might be met with a tribal answer but asking them what race they are will always be met with a black answer.

I hear that. But he stated ''ask any African what they are''. In africa it's always tribe. In the West it's different because we're surrounded by cacs.

If ''black'' was a meaningful identification in Africa then Kenyans in 2007 would not have killed each other over tribal differences. Everyone's black right?

Well, technically you have Somali Bantus, but they are different.

Forget the Bantus. Most Somalis have very little admixture. I think you looked at our proximity to the Mid East and our features and assumed we're mixed with Arabs. That's a big misconception. On the whole we're not a mixed race. Somalis are Cushytes.

So, by definition they have SSA admixture/dna right? Just asking to make sure. Also, I always thought Ethiopians and Somalis had Arab admixture :leon: I stand corrected for my error.

Well that doesn't make sense, it's like saying in europe if everyone was white WW2 wouldn't have happened. Tribal/National wars are different than race. You make it seem like africans are unaware of the rest of the world and what colour we are within that world and that is not the case. There's levels, even in the States you have neighbourhood vs neighbourhood, then city rivalries, then State, then country, then regions (west vs east sphere), we are talking about on a racial level, yes we do consider ourselves black. If we are talking about something within the city that's different. I live in one of, if not the only african country that has banned tribe labels. We no longer use them. Quite liberating forward thinking.

disclaimer: despite the govt no longer using tribal labels in the public sector, people do still know what they are, but the next generation seems less concerned.

That's a good point. But prior to empire and the subsequent arrival of immigrants people in England, the main signifiers were class and not race. I would wager it was the same across Europe. When everyone is white no need to identify as white. Humans being humans will find a different way of dividing themselves and identifying.

It's a good intention but to be honest I don't see it holding over the long term unless there are other changes e.g more mixed urbanisation. We tried the same thing under Siad Barre where mentioning tribe was banned (IIRC) but as we saw it never went away. Saudi Arabia has also banned tribal websites and tribal flags on cars etc in attempt to build a ''Saudi'' identity and prevent power bases separate from the Al Saud. But people are still :mjpls: as the surnames are a tribal label.

Banning tribal labels seems to me a high minded ideal pursued by authoritarian regimes that usually ends with the fall of the regime.

Pull stats out of your ass then follow it up by not knowing what certs is brehs.
I pulled it from the The Economist, which pulled it from the government of the UK. I know what a certification is, in my circle it's something we add to our degrees. Usually a CFA or CQF etc for the people who didn't get an MBA, JD or PhD that is. I only have one computer geek friend, he's doing a PhD in computer science, never mentioned "certs", so I'm not really familiar with the exact thing you are referring to. Is it a career advancement thing educated people with some experience get as the ones I'm familiar with? :leon:.
