Never understood why Sammy was on the list. Jungle Boy sucks on the mic and has the personality of a dead moth, but he can go in the ring. Sammy is just flippy shyt. :camby:

Starks is much better than both anyway. :ld:
I had high hopes for Jungle Boy, but his grown man body isn't coming fast enough and he needs a fukking gimmick change.

He needs to be Jack Perry at this point and be a cocky Shawn Michaels-esque heel.

And how does a guy who's father was a famous actor not be able to act at ALL :why:

That's like saying how does someone whose dad is a famous basketball player not be able to play basketball. Some people just aren't born for it.

Because they're white.... why else? They couldve featured starks prominently from the jump and people would've saw what was up but instead he was relegated to a shytty stable led by an orange midget for 3yrs

In an interview with The Corner (via Fightful), Ricky Starks spoke about the idea of AEW having ‘four pillars’, which he said he’s not a fan of. This isn’t the first time Starks has talked about this, as he also criticized it last year. The four pillars of AEW are promoted as MJF, Darby Allin, Jack Perry and Sammy Guevara.

Starks said: “I actually hate the idea of pillars. I loathe the idea of a pillar because one, it’s a full gimmick, and it came from one guy who, there’s nothing behind it. To say that these four dudes are the pillars of the company, you know what you’re doing by saying that? F everybody else who did anything. Those people don’t matter. It’s these three guys that we’ve deemed, ‘I have bestowed this sacred title upon thee, and I want you to go forth and do with it.’ No, I don’t believe in that. It’s a very sweet gesture to say Ricky should be considered a fifth pillar. Baby, I don’t need to be a pillar, okay? I can be a foundation. I can be the roof. I can be the person outside maintaining the lawn. I don’t need none of that. To me, that’s a box within itself. Four pillars, you got me, ‘What? Four pillars? Four pillars of what? Name one coliseum that you know that’s famous. I bet you couldn’t even do that. So to say that these four guys are the ones that are gonna make and break, let’s see the numbers. Y’all wanna talk about ratings? Let’s see the ratings for y’all four. Let’s see how much money y’all making. If y’all want to keep bringing up all this bullshyt, let’s see it, pen to paper. How are their ‘quarterly hours’ doing when y’all are on TV? Let’s see it. I want to see it. The Four Pillars, hell yeah. My paycheck is signed by those four dudes? Hell yeah, let me see. I don’t even like the conversation. I don’t even want to be included. Keep me away from that. I don’t want that. I don’t want to be considered a pillar. This ain’t All Japan. You don’t know shyt about All Japan, I bet. I tell Max to his face, ‘You don’t know nothing about All Japan. Come on.’ You just want a slogan and a T-shirt. I can give you that. I can go to ChatGPT right now and get that AI to set us up with something.

He kept consistent and he's right.

That 4 pillars storyline ended up exposing those guys. They should have kept it to themselves.

If we really finna talk about it, Luke wasn't a good actor, he was just beloved by tween girls at the time so it floated him long enough to then become a nostalgia crush to the 30-somethings still watching CW shows in the years before he passed.:hubie:

Dylan from 90210 was just Shawn from Boy Meets World for the previous generation. Same type of character - same bland actor type playing them.

Doesn't surprise me Jack can't act. What surprises me is his impossibly monotone delivery. Even when he's yelling he's toneless. It's... if Jack was black I'd be calling for a Guru from Gangstarr gimmick. But... if Jack was black, he wouldn't be on TV. If Jack was black we'd accept that he's not even better than Lee Moriarty as a total package. But he's not black. So he's a 'pillar'.

No wonder this company so shaky. One of it's table legs is undersized.

He’s always bytching. Now, we did see him out pop Sammy in Texas even with the booking trying to make Sammy a hero but Ricky knows what business he’s in. Ricky needs to “do the work” and go make himself “undeniable”.

Shawn from boy meets world wasn’t a star like that. Even if Jack isn’t a good actor, if he can do anything in life he can be Dylan. There’s no character like that in wrestling and he clearly looks the part

cuz.

Hook has basically been playing 'Dylan w/ Judo' since his debut.
Gimmick's taken.

Maybe they should do a parent-gimmick swap. Hook can be Dylan. Jack can shave his head, tan himself excessively and be too small for his attitude.

All Jack's gotta do is shave his head now :yeshrug:

The whole issue with the 4 pillars nonsense is that it's not organic. Rarely in wrestling do things go well when you vocally tell the audience that you should be cheering for somebody or forcing a storyline. The idea of the four pillars shouldn't have left the writing room, and should've been something that is behind the scenes. This would've been like if Paul Heyman kept on telling the audience "this is the "Smackdown 6" and they're the most important part of the show". In wrestling you just don't do that because the audience doesn't buy it and the audience doesn't like being told what to cheer or believe in.

Anyways, they need to scrap the 4 pillar nonsense because none of those guys except MJF has done anything of value since they were anointed the four pillars. I think the other 3 guys have been left behind by talent that joined the company or guys that developed like Starks and Wardlow.

He's done it multiple times now and the only good segment mjf has been in since he got the title was with ricky.
