We held to a lower standard because
A) we dont have the wealth to attend
B) our schools arent on par with say a cac that attended some charter school(our environment)

Have a few friends in med school rn (one asian, one white) so i heard a bit about the med admissions process in college and their forums etc.

Supposedly it is extremely competitive for Jewish and Asian people getting admittance due to high standards. Apparently the standards are lower for african americans, so it may be easier to get interviews as the article may have stated. My thing is once they get the interviews, they still have to be accepted and do the work (med school, residency, etc)

Obviously it is not a surface level issue, as there are many socioeconomic issues that could have led to things being this way. My asian friend was poor and the white one was rich. There are some programs (JAMP) to help those less well off, however my friend said whenever he spoke to many of the kids at some internship/conference thing a lot of them were from wealthy backgrounds and lied (claimed independence) to qualify for it. So those in charge are not vetting hard enough or possibly slipping info to their friends kids. You know what they say about friends in high places

Either way the schools should have caught this liar and punished him with an instant denial. Maybe not so cut and dry due to fear of litigation but still...make an example out of this fukker

I watched this motherfukker this morning on Smerconish. I watched the whole thing. What he tries to gloss over is that he applied to 22 schools and was admitted to ONE. A school (St. Louis Univ. School of Medicine) that currently ranks 49th in Primary Care and 67th in research.

So for a "Black man" with a mediocre GPA and an average/good MCAT score there was a 4.5% acceptance rate. Some "affirmative action."

He couldn't even hack it at a middle of the pack med school. HE fukkING DROPPED OUT!

He admits that he was a frat boy/partier and decided to steal another black person's opportunity to go to med school b/c he was a fukk up.
