This pass rush has actually gotten worse breh...3 sacks in 3 games is on pace for 16 in a season which would be less than 19 last yr which was already one of the lowest sack numbers for any team in the past decade. My hope would be that we can get pressure by stacking the box and force Scam to pass on us

Lol I'm not saying the pass rush better but we better at every other level of the defense and much improved on offense. Maybe not statistically yet as new players get settled but from a talent perspective we added a lot on both sides.

I think the defense got younger so there's the potential to get better as the season progresses so I agree with you there, but defensively overall we've somehow gotten worse. Pass rush is worse and we're giving up more yards & points than we were last yr. It's scary b/c the defense is kinda DQ's specialty.

If we can come out 3-3, 4-4 there's a chance to make some headway later in the season. I think being at .500 goin into the midpoint is really all I'm asking for

I agree. The offense put up points last year but it looked like they struggled doing so and it was mostly due to Freeman having a breakout year. This year we're putting up points with ease on the ground and through the air.

Julio caught 1 pass for 17 yards yesterday in a game where we put up 45 points. That would've never happened last year

Defensively, we look pathetic. Those dudes were lost during the passing plays. We had a few bright spots and plays (DJ, Poole, Trufant, and Alford). Its not good that our pass rush looked bad against a weak offensive line.

DQ has to address the RB draw plays that have been hashing us so far bc Carolina will use it. They are definitely run heavy.

Vic does "bull rush" like Freeney but he's not as big or strong as Freeney or as technically sound. He's really a tweener...too small to bull rush effectively and he's more in the body of a LB which is part of the reason they moved him to SAM linebacker in the offseason

To be fair we were trading yards for clock in garbage time the last 2 games. Not saying the defense isn't struggling, but just trying to put some context behind those numbers being slightly skewed.

Breh this is really just a bad defense. You can try to spin it or put context on it as best you can, but defensively we lack playmakers and schematically i don't see us implementing a system that is putting our players in positions to succeed.

You've got to remember that one of the keys for this season was improving on the improvement we saw last yr when w became a middle of the pack defense. Now we're back to being terrible...fortunately we played two teams with defenses worse than ours (NO & OAK), but this is unacceptable from a defensive minded head coach to be this bad...fixing the defense is what he was brought in for and it's gotten worse in less than a year with according to your assessment "more depth and more talent"

Arizona just got blown out by the bills. Is it time for them to panic too? We have 4-5 new starters on defense and some of them coming back from injury and suspension. Let them get on the field and gel before we start panicking

Not panicking just pointing out that the defense is terrible and has actually gotten worse from last yr under DQ the defensive head coach. It's a problem if we want to be anything other than a 7-8 win team
