Matt didn't play poorly but he was off. Passes behind Julio, Sanu, Coleman. And he didn't attack TB either. The red zone turnovers from a yr ago resorted in a more conservative game plan yesterday. That can't happen...either they let him play or get somebody who can. They coached not to lose and lost and that's how Matt played yesterday as well
Yea it's 1 game, but the trends are what are discouraging. We're seeing Matt not be an impact player anymore. A good enough game from him ends in a solid defeat for us. His own coaches don't trust him enough to throw downfield or look for the best WR in the game
Beasley at this point is a bust. fukk it I said it. I know it's early but he has to undo that title and he has to play like he gives a fukk. He looks even more lost now than he did as a rookie. Defense as a whole looked overmatched
Maybe it's still too early, but when does Quinn actually get heat? He's 3-9 in his last 12. 1-6 career in the division. His team is undisciplined, lacks fundamentals in his forte (tackling & defense) and increasingly looks more and more disjointed. They don't look like a cohesive unit on either side of the ball and this goes back to last season
Beasley
I hate it had to be him but he's definitely looking like a bust. I'll give him til the end of the season before I label him one.
Imagine how awful this team would be without Julio. Our offense isn't even legit anymore. I definitely agree that they're scared to throw the ball in the redzone as if they're hiding Matt. We can't win games off of FGs especially with our defense. The Shede thing pretty much sums up this TD, Shanny, and Quinn era.
We never really had fundamentals last year and it's sad that after a year DQ still fields an undisciplined team that lacks fundamentals. It was masked at times by the speed of the rookies but you can tell the defense is just as bad as last years.
As for Ryan, it's clear he'll never be a game changer. He's more of a game manager. Unfortunately our team is not talented enough to win with a GM, so we more than likely will have to move on or get more talent. A couple of his bad throws were back shoulder throws to protect the receiver or he had to throw around Gerald McCoy. Honestly, he did well for a Shanahan led QB.
Edit: I forgot to include Justin Hardy. He continues to be awful. He's too slow to get open on routes. Even 33 year old Grimes had him on lock. Sanu and Jones can only do so much. We could've had Diggs
