PPV is the poison chalise of boxing, it made some boxers rich but it killed its popularity.

no what kills Boxing is that there isn't a signle governing body. Imagine the fights we'd be getting if that was the case??

I'd really like to see a Super 6 type tournament, played out an National TV. Problem is will they make enough money from the sponsors and commercial revenue to entice the boxers? But imagine having maybe the top 4 boxers of three weight classes coming together for a Tourney. I'd set it up to have all 6 "Semi Final" fights on one night, then follow up with the 3 Finals 10-12 weeks later. Preferably happening right after the NBA finals and ending right before the NFL starts up.

The single governing body thing died because of corruption.

boxing doesn't work well on regular tv since there's only like 60 seconds between rounds. tv couldn't even get their commercials in during that time. and no one is gonna watch a sport that isn't live on ESPN so they can add commercials in the day and age of the internet.

So do I, they should do more tournaments like that, it puts a spin on on how you can market it. Boxing needs to be more organized in terms of how regularly matches happen. In the 50's-60's there were fights every week. Granted it was more popular then.

regardless the sport desperately needs a couple of big fights on free tv. tyson used to fight on ABC back in the day early in his career
