As far as that other most parents claim to love their kids and raise them wrong, or the kid justs falls in with the wrong crowd, makes the wrong decisions.
Tariq was corrupted by Kanan alone because he had no one else.

It's not confirmed Tariq is in it but seems like a hint to me. You can't say Kanan is staring in it because 50's case is special and he is likely to be on set regardless because he EP's the show. He can always just hang around and visit if he wants to.
I think they are also filming some type of Origin story though like a prequel. Fifty also hinted to this on IG when he posted himself near an old school police car and left a hint in the caption saying the show was supposed to have an old school queens vibe to it.
There is supposed to be more then one spinoff based off of what is being said.
I hear you, maybe Ghost being there more for him would have changed things around but what about those parents who are never there for their kids and the kids still make something of themselves. At the end of the day what if Ghost was legit and successful as a business man, he still wouldn't be able to be around his son all the time and Tariq could still have got in with the wrong crowd some where along the way.
So it's not only on the parent when it comes to these things but it's the kids too. There is no right or wrong formula for raising a kid. Some kids you can trust and give them space to grow since you know they will do good with the lessons you teach them and others you have to be on them a lot more or they wouldn't have the proper structure that they need and end up messed up out here.
