Johnson's legacy got completely fukked over by him stepping in the quick sand of Vietnam fascinating what further progress we could have had as a nation without that cockup.
RFK getting killed was the final hammer blow that could have potentially steered us on a better path forward after that it felt like the door slammed shut
RFK was anti Castro/Cuba and a borderline war hawk himself.

Remember, it was his brother who proliferated the Vietnam war.

point taken, I'm of the opinion that the cold war was a waste of time with little benefit in the long run that America could have used on building up a welfare state to better take care of her citizenry but that is crazy talk to a lot of folks apparently :pachaha::pachaha:

What is progressive?

Jimmy Carter started the neoliberal economic model.

The US with its electoral system( electoral college) and corporate media, significantly skews conservative. so presidents like Jimmy carter and current Biden
is as "progressive" as you are ever gonna get, relatively speaking.

Real progressives do not stand a chance in hell of ever becoming president, what country do you think this is, Norway?:mjlol:

are we counting things they did because it was politically convenient or because they truly were about that life ?

A candidate that was truly about that life would never win the presidency, in the US anyway
