What’s been going on with Dan
Only about 13 minutes in, but so far, his brother didn't pass away as suddenly as we all found out. He'd had brain cancer for a while, and while it was undiagnosed, it was messing with his behavior to the point where he often became a hazard to himself and those around him.
At the same time, his father was on some sort of medication that was also messing with this brain, and paramedics apparently came and saved him from hanging off a balcony before he fell off.
Those two alone are all I need to hear to definitively say it's time for him to take a break. Maybe even permanently. He always wanted the show to be a platform that lived beyond him and Stugotz, and times like this are when it's time for that to be true. No matter who you are, when mortality starts touching people around you, you absolutely need to stop, take inventory, and reset.

Just listened to the segment, makes sense since it's the brain but I didn't know brain cancer could turn someone schizo like that. Dan gotta take a break man, I don't know maybe he feels like keeping busy with the show/Meadowlark is what he needs to deal with grief but dude needs a detox.
Haven't listened much this past week, I've missed their explanation as to why they are in L.A. Can any breh explain?
From what I understand, they're in LA so Dan and Mike Ryan can get some guidance on how to take the show/Meadowlark in a more creative direction. He referred to Adam McKay and Mike Schurr as mentors of the company and they've been having meetings while simultaneously doing a lightweight version of Sports Reporters while Billy and Stu hold things down in Miami. I think they were only supposed to be gone for 2 weeks
