Yep, gonna real interesting to try to see Dan walk back those "It was 10 years ago", and "Having to deal with being called racist was punishment enough" statements.

Spoken like someone who has never actually encountered racism in their own life.
:russ: Dan really went to bat foor Gruden after the racist shyt?

Did he comment on the sexist and homophobic comments?

He didn't really go to bat for him, but he was ready to let him off the hook with just having to deal with public shame.

At that point, the sexist and homophobic news wasn't out. He was willing to take Gruden at his word that this was an isolated incident, but Stugotz said that it was highly likely there were more emails if they found that one from 10 years ago. The "Stugotz was right" drop bout to ring off today.

The part that pissed me off, and maybe made it seem like he was saying something he wasn't, was that he feel back on the white and white aspiring/presenting argument that being thought of as racist is the worst possible thing that could happen. Meanwhile, us black folks (and other aggrieved minorities, I guess, can't speak for them) constantly have to remind people that no, having to deal with the actual racist shyt being said and done is actually the worst part of all of this.

I've said it 1,000 times; Dan isn't as "woke" as he tries to portray. He has obvious bias and does not get challenged enough.

I'm not fooled by his "Hired women, 'brown' people, etc." bs...Cuomo had an office full of women.

And Stugotz gets shyt for avoiding this topic.

I don't remember Dan holding that position throughout the years I've listened to him :snoop:

I'm not trying to shyt on Dan, but, he's way too self-righteous to say shyt like that. And, again I'm sitting through ppl mad at Chappelle, I just don't believe he'd be this forgiving if the "Roget Goddell is a f*ggot for letting f*ggots in the league" came out, first.

I think it's entirely an effect of being a Cuban who's lived in Miami his entire life. It's one of the only places I can think of where a minority group is actually the majority, and as such is not just pandered to, but catered to. He's never really had to deal with the same life experiences people have had to have elsewhere that let them know Gruden was bullshytting from the moment that first email came out, and had it cemented with his weak ass "Sorry I offended you, and believe me, the person who just got caught saying some racist shyt, when I say that I am not racist. Don't know what else to tell you."

It comes off sometimes like he's stuck in that phase where some kid moved away for college, got exposed to some culture for the first time ever, and is overcompensating to distance themselves. Except he never took that next step of actually contextualizing things through other people's viewpoints and experiences.

I understand where you coming from...but DAN IS DAMN NEAR 60 AND...and AND is the keyword...he's consistently is wagging his finger at people for "not getting it."

I 100% rock with your post, in the general sense. But, Dan will tell you he gets racism and black issues.

*checks*

:deadrose: Dan was born the same year as my Dad

He said he would give him the benefit of the doubt on the racist shyt :francis:

And I almost forgot that Gruden worked at ESPN, so they may have a personal relationship...even though Dan hates coaches and ESPN.

This shyt is turning into the Mike Ryan and Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz. Sadly enough, the Shipping Container are more informed and aware than the damn hosts.

Well he is the EP...

People have to remember that Gruden worked at ESPN for years and some of those current and former ESPNers are likely sweating bullets hoping that all of those emails don't leak out to the public.

That's the real reason why a lot of them are going to his defense as a way to shield and cover themselves as well just in case.

From the info presented, unless they were also dumbasses emailing contacts within the NFL at their work addresses like Gruden, they're probably just fine.

We don't know that because the info presented is what the NFL is choosing to leak out to the media. For all we know, Gruden could have CCed current and former ESPNers in those emails as well or be mentioned by name for whatever reason.

We are talking about 650,000 emails chalked full of who knows what. A lot of people will more than likely end up catching strays once all of this is over.
