He was "heartbroken" because BLM condemned the US govt embargo and not Cuba and it hurt him as an ally to BLM...man GTFO. The last couple of episodes are heavy on the Cuba talk, they need to make em their own separate pods like they did with Billy Corben.

In general I'm starting to see ESPN wasn't out of bounds in limiting Dan on political talk. I still get why he left.
I haven't watched/listened in months since the full transition. Every video/topic seems to be "sports aren't interesting unless there's a social angle."
Now, I don't have a non-ESPN (Dan and nem were so different they counted) sports show anymore

I think it's a classic case of you it getting any new opinions or viewpoints by only kicking it with the people you've known for years. The great irony is that this was the week that they probably could've used Jessica's opinion the most. Everybody in there is so familiar with each other that they are all pretty aligned on something like this, and your only dissenters would be either of the Cotes, Stugotz, or Roy. Three of them are white dudes who smartly try to avoid a landmine and fall back, and the other is in the middle of an extended social experiment to find out what would happen if Silent Bob was black. You ain't getting shyt out of them. Even if I don't agree with what she says all the time, she at least pushes back and tries to present a different angle without being overbearing.
The biggest with dialogue, now a days, is just this.
And all the outside voices Dan looks for are people he agrees with.
I've forgot the specific instance where he was challenged by someone he brought on the show.
I think it was Charles Barkley. I remember Dan did the whole I-am-so-shocked-by-what-you-said-I-can't-speak.
I'd love to see Dan in a debate. I remember the Magic Johnson thing with Keyshawn and he legit not getting why black men hated his take on Magic "getting a job he didn't deserve."

I do wonder how much the non-Cuban crew even know or care bout the issue tbh. Like speaking for myself I kinda just barely understand what's going on but certainly don't have any strong feelings one way or the other. I guess it could be different for them because they're down in Florida but I can easily see them and especially Jessica being from up north just being like "ehh" about the whole thing.
