Swear they vacation at the WOAT time each year.
pretty much all the shows schedule their vacation around this time (after NBA Draft, before NFL start, not sure if its contractual though that they need to take time at specific dates but they didn't take anytime off during the shutdown so it make sense to take it now
of course it looks worse now that every sports is playing in July

We weren’t certain, but you hedge. If someone tells me they’re likely going to be in town and want to stay with me weekend X but aren’t 100% sure yet, if I don’t have plans, then I keep that weekend clear. NBA and MLB said when they were coming back, take your vacay two weeks earlier.
and again, NFL is king in normal times, but sports this year is in an unprecedented place, talking about these weird seasons >>> gearing up for an NFL season that likely will struggle to stay together
