Everyone complaining about Dan & Dan's opinions & Dan's takes lately...
I ask you to just take a step back for a second to enjoy the only non-sports sports show out there.
Yes, you may disagree with Dan here and he may come off as a blowhard there and shyt might get FL/MIA-centric at times (especially at relevant times) ...
BUT
But...
Is there any person/show/collection of people/extended fam/that are simply enjoying sports outside of tribal rivalies like this group around TDLSWS does?
Yeshua H Christ this was a fun fukking week of sports radio & TV and to anyone feeling the need to parse/breakdown/evaluate/compartmentalize either this show or HQ and how they dealt with it, I don't get it.
It's the best shyt out there. Period.
And, while I can understand where you'll only share disagreements and where you see flaws as really that's the only time to comment, what Dan, Stugotz & crew have built is honestly the best shyt in sports media b/c they simultaneously love the sports and know it's all worth mocking while diverging to take the social stuff seriously and even the sports shyt seriously even when it's to their brand's detriment within their company.
Dan is a flawed guy but he's also one who's self-aware of that, and the segment today where the staff mocked him is a perfect example of that. Do you see anyone else in the gasbag arena let an entire staff under them mock them on air for a full segment or two?
Every awkward interview or bad take or rehashed opinion by Dan I'd take in a heartbeat over any other show b/c I know he's genuine; if he's off, he'll allow himself to be called out on air and, ultimately, whatever his opinion is will be of the least importance compared to some larger story/issue/social relevance.
I'm not saying you can't criticize, because he self-admittingly has plenty you criticize him for, but some day soon his attempts at self-sabotage will actualize and I want to make sure that even those making loving complaints realize how good they got it before it's forever gone.
I think everyone in this thread already does appreciate it really, but with the volume of complaints lately, I just want to force home that your complaints are about flaws on a daily live show that is consistently the best shyt out in its medium.
While the criticism points are valid, it can come off as dismissing the whole show, when it's really just pointing out the minor flaws on a masterpiece.
Just want everyone to take a second, step back and realize, even with the Spains, Foxworths, Marlins talk, etc... Even with those elements at their grating peaks, you're not getting a better sports show anywhere else.
Even when you aren't feeling a segment or show or week, I just want to make sure you appreciate what you have before Dan destroys it all.
