Truth be told, Stringer had flaws. But this scene let Avon know he couldn’t be trusted to make wise choices. That was strike 2.

He made a dumb decision without letting Avon know.

In the end, Stringer was playing both sides. He wanted to be legit, but in the streets as well. And instead of just focusing on being great at one, he was mediocre at both.
