For what ?

Music should be about music/art not the artist's backstory

Even if we don't give him a pass....these young kids, cacs and women will

So what has your disapproval done ?

i'm about to show you how weak your brain is:

this right here was the #1 song in the country:

black people hated this shyt. it was a mockery of disco which even though the genre was played out at this point, was still essentially black music

they weren't saying "this is about art, not back story!!", "quit hating!", "why you mad!", it was some bullshyt.
which is why nobody talks about "disco duck" to this day.

so you are the personification of this docile, weak, apple-sauce brained generation.
you're not saying anything profound or deep when you defend bullshyt, you are in effect a slave.
you're relishing in your brainwashing.
couldn't be happier.

it's 2016 not the 70s.... Youtube didn't even exist back then

Cacs have emulated black music and sold to other cacs for decades ...

Has Post Malone ever had a #1 song ? Why Disco Duck and not David Bowie ?

Similar to all the railroad companies who laughed in Fords face about the car
You are the product of an old protectionist mentality that can't accept change
There's nothing profound or prestigious about your jaded solipsism

This is the new era, where consumers dictate everything....

and as it stands , cacs, women and the youth give zero f*cks about your geriatric ramblings

You are in effect Homers dad ... a walking expired joke...:russell:

now go ahead and

:patrice: what in the fukk does youtube have to do with the point I made?

and saying "this is not the 70's!" doesn't mean what i said isn't true, that's just how people thought back then

are you suggesting that their THINKING was wrong? and yours is right?

I hope you're not offline making these types of logic leaps in your debates and interactions with people...

you're closing a lot of doors and missing out on opportunities in life if so.

His disapproval made a thread and expressed his opinion.
It isn't malicious at all,
so ask yourself what has your disapproval done.
You didn't even debate his topic. You won't even try to understand what OP is trying to express to you.
He isn't trying to revolutionize the world. He is making a thread expressing his opinion.

And the story behind the musician should matter. It's ok for a teenager to copy a culture and style for fame and money?
If he wanted to be famous and have money in this genre, don't you think he wouldn't have done that video in short shorts? and look a fool?
Why defend this generation who achieves fame so easily without hard work and are posers while doing it.
I don't agree with that,
but I'm not like thread starter and making threads about it.

Do I have to care about what he did as a youth to listen to the four songs he has out in the world? :dahell:

I just don't give a fukk about these musicians' lives beyond the music.

You act like this genre was meant to be infiltrated and abused for money and fame. How many other genres do you have posers in?
Country?
Pop?
Metal?
I don't see any artists exploiting those genres on the level Post Malone is doing
and laughing while doing it.
Drake even did this. They get their hands on a persona they never were prior and exploit it for fame and money.
To each their own, but this wasn't allowed in this genre prior to 1998

well first off that video of him in the coochie cutters is from 2013, that's just 3 years ago, he was 17 or 18 years old, he's only 20 now so saying this is his "youth" is a big dramatic

secondly, why the hostility over a question? just say that if you like a song or an artist's music, that you don't care about their background or if it's authentic or not.

all these emotions.

The fukk does that have to do with this disposable shyt we call Post Malone's discography? He has no longevity, the mother fukker has no albums currently. All he has are songs on Youtube. That's it.

You click the thumbs up then move on. shyt's not even REMOTELY deep.

When you accept that there's nothing you can do about Post Malone or other artists like him

You may find peace....

The only people I care about are my biz partners/employees/family - that's it

Even if a door/opportunity closes...I'll find another and create another

That's the beauty of innovation/forward-thinking NOT clamoring for the "good old days"
as your neural pathways rot from a lack of personal growth

:old: <<<---- this is embodiment of your ideology and helplessness.

Meanwhile cacs, women and these kids are :cook: and

I don't give a fukk what he was doing. I mean, am I supposed to care to listen to White Iverson? Is that the pre-requisite here? Dude's on the level of Rich Chigga. He's a YouTube star. :russ: This is what they do.

you're the third person to say "I don't give a fukk" in this thread

why not just ignore the thread altogether?

that's not weird to you?:what:

He's actively soliciting more disapproval in his posts...

I didn't make any disapproval of that. So you are way off base there

I discussed the effects of this strategic objective (revoking Post Malones pass)
and how futile it would be given that women, cacs and these kids already accept him

So in the end, you expand time and resources for naught. Get it ?

This isn't hip hop culture ...it's youth culture embedded in rap
He was 17, is he not allowed to experiment with his craft ? go from fooling around to treating it more seriously ?
You n!ggas stay sh!tting on this generation about everything

You act like the 90s wasn't a monopoly where big labels weren't shoving records down our throats
cornering the market with radio/TV/magazines. Artists back then just went to the studio, showed up for videos
and let the label handle everything.

Technology means there's a million artists and severe ADHD. Every week there's a new mixtape/album/song out
You have to cut through the clutter with less man power and $$$ now

So the fans decide whether your sh!t is poppin' out of all the millions of songs/outlets
