This inspired me to make this thread

Making movies about Egyptian gods fighting like power rangers with an all white cast.

Sequels to movies no one asked for like the mask, dumb and dumber, Paul blart, etc

Tryna change superhero background stories like the shyt with fantastic 4 or trying to make the ninja turtles into aliens.

Wait wtf is this? A Rush Hour sequel with no one from Rush Hour in it?

We get unnecessary sequels because the originals made money. if you spend $3 and make $20 then why wouldn't you gamble another $3. You lose that $3 then you eat that loss. That's not considered being out of touch because as far as the studio knows the first one was a good thing and people wouldn't mind more of a good thing. They problem is delayed follow ups and forced cash grabs. Sequels years later after the fanbase has moved on or thrown together shyt that is living off the name of the original.

Changing superhero origin stories or retelling the original a million times is the absolute worst. EVERYONE on earth knows superman/spiderman/batmans etc origins. You can google any heroes origin and know it before the end of the opening scene. All you have to do is give a comic book movie decent actors and not fukk with the source material and people wont even notice the plot makes no sense

Movies and tv shows
  • Mtv refusing to show videos and telling the viewers to deal with it and get but hurt when no one watches the VMAs. And no showing 2 hours of videos at 3 am do not count .

  • BET canceling shows like Rap City & Teen Summit & firing Free & AJ.

  • Cartoon Network & Nickelodeon cancling excellent shows & replacing them with shytty ass shows ( not Teen Titans & Teen Titans Go! thats my shyt)

Yep. This and also if a movie did really well on vhs/dvd/rentals then typically studios will continue to fund straight to dvd/redbox/whatever sequels for those franchises. So that's why sometimes you are in the grocery store and on redbox you see American Pie 8, Van Wilder 12, Hollow Man 4, Wild Things: Foursome, or goofy shyt like that.
