I never liked Dr. Dres production. It's the sound of an era but it's fukking terrible.

I don't really see this massive fall off everyone seems to see with Wayne

I was never that impressed with Carter 1, 2, drought series and thought he was overrated as fuck back then

at the same time I didn't think Carter IV was nearly as bad as everyone seems to think it is

as far as the actual quality of the music, this era, skinny jeans, snapbacks and all is much better than the snap music, tall T era which will probably go down as the worst era in hip hop

The Black Album is better than Blueprint

MF DOOM isn't a good rapper

Big L was never a top tier lyricist. Lifestylez is only a decent album.

I did and from a musical standpoint its one of the worst albums of all time. I regret taking the time to listen to the whole thing, but its Blu so I did.

Aftermath's only classics are Dr. Dre - 2001 and The Game - The Documentary

SSLP, MMLP and GRODT being classics = :scusthov: :usure:

This is an interesting opinion, can you explain why you feel this way? I also feel Gucci is one of the most underrated lyricists of all time (even though I wouldn't go as far as comparing him to big/nas/pac).

I'll post a thread about it some time. Not here because this thread turned out pretty bad.

The best albums of 2012 so far are, in no particular order: Schoolboy Q, Currensy, Gucci Mane Trap Back, Ab Soul.

NOT: Killer Mike... his album is good but lacks je ne sais quois. Sounds a little too forced and isn't really fun to listen to.

NOT: Nas. Not a bad album at all but it lacks any innovation what so ever. Its the same old Nas we've heard for years. Its like all the songs on this album we've heard before, but they were better the first time we heard them.

Dre's 2001 Album is pure trash except for the Watcher and Still Dre

Scarface is easily #1 of all time with Nas a distant second

Waka Flocka's Lebron Flocka James mixtapes is one of the greatest mixtapes of all time

LAST BUT NOT LEAST:

I can't stand MC Guru's flow! Love Gangstarr's beats, but I can't make it through the early albums because of Guru specifically

I don't neg people, but if I did I would neg this post.
