The problem with that article is that it is new. Pope Benedict said and wrote that homos shouldn't be priests, period, even if celibate. This pope says they can be priests just like anyone else.

Where did he if you had gay desires that it disqualifies you from being a priest? I think it boils down to how gay is being defined. Is it desire or action? If he said you can't have gay desires then I agree it is new. But I'm not sure if he was ever asked the question in the same way this Pope was. Maybe he was and I haven't seen it yet.
