@Zeu$ I know you know the album is live right now. What are your impressions?
Right now, I'm disappointed that the album is different but in a few months or after 30 or so listens (whichever comes first) I know I'll appreciate it. I really feel that way about the production as well. All songs have some sort of non traditional element to them and I'm glad she continued that trend. One of the tracks had a car alarm going off. That's cool. These are some pretty twisted love songs and I do wish the lyrics were stronger but the production and emotion push them along.
There's a lot to love on this album. I think she did a great job. I won't front. The rawness of EP is missed. I still hold that to be her best project. I'll also contend that her voice is hidden more in the production(even if it's incrementally so) than on EP2. Production is EP2 pushed more than before which is fine by me. I don't feel any knockout tracks like Ache, Weak Spot, Papi Pacify or Ultraviolet. The album is pretty smooth through it's 40 minutes. Can't wait to find out what the song on the 7" sounds like.
My favorites are: Preface, Lights On, Give Up, Pendulum, Closer and Kicks. Second tier are Two Weeks, Video Girl, Numbers & Hours. It's a damn good album but the next one better not be "LP2".
