Again, you're cherrypicking one scenario. What if the gunman is on one side of the room and victims are on the other side so there's zero opportunity for collateral damage? Why take a 0-percent opportunity of being able to defend yourself when you can have a drastically improved opportunity. Yes, most cops are terrible shots but most cops don't train properly. Neither do most gun owners.

I personally don't shoot as much as I should, but rest assured in a crisis scenario and somebody comes in my house trying to hurt me or someone else, I'll play the percentages and take my chances with a gun.

No one knows how they'll react in a fight or flight scenario until they encounter one, but to just cherrypick that stat and justify gun control with it is lazy and retarded
