Maybe, but obviously not enough if we're where we are today. I will say the older generation put a lot more action behind their words than our current generation and they were faced with much more blatant and vicious opposition. Which is why it bothers me to see this Twitter/IG/Keyboard warrior crowd increasingly shyt on the civil rights movement and leaders when the vast majority of us from this generation are doing little more than having faction fights with other blacks. We criticize much, accomplish little. No unity.

Negative. I stated qualms about our willingness to constantly forgive and "pray for" our oppressors when we get shat on. Nothin to do wit any bilateral activity.

Waitin time rebooted. :mjpls:

So back then Deacons for Defense and Justice was just sitting around praying?
So back then SNIC movement was just sitting around and praying?
So back then the nation of islam was just sitting around and praying?
So back then Nat turner because he was also a christian was just sitting are praying?
So back then Harriet Tubman was just sitting around and praying because she also incorporated religious themes in her movement, Was she just sitting around and praying?
Many of the members of black panther party were christian....:mjpls:

This congregation is just sitting around and praying yet there pastor was an activist and senator actively making strides for SC legislation. I'm sure many of them did the ground work to get him elected because white republicans are not going vote for him.

I'm pretty sure all these people prayed for their oppressor and still managed to act.

They don't want to address Slavery or Jim Crow cause they know they were never PUNISHED for all that animalistic sh!t they did to Black people for so long.

I think the black youth is doing something but the over all disrespect for the black community of the past is disgusting to me.

If you acknowledge that these people are actually working what the fukk are bytching about then? Because they make us look weak in the eyes of cacs? Who cares what a white racist thinks?

It all comes down to white self approval, like i said time and time again. Stop trying to convince ya'll selves.

Forgiveness in itself has many meanings to different people and takes on different forms, so what the fukk are you really saying?

When I say "sustain and build their identity, culture and community" it does not mean to do nothing. If you are actively doing these things then protecting( protect can mean many things) yourself and the your community is already a given. In order to sustain something you have to value and protect it.

The motivation should be to preserve black self worth and black freedom. White supermacy is a threat to that black freedom.
Telling black people to further police themselves and hide themselves because it looks weak in the eyes of white supermacy is not promoting black self -worth or black freedom. There are black people of all religions and creeds and singling out one group is counter productive. Black people are not monolithic.

Black people should have the right to be care free and peaceful as do they also have right to be angry without persecution.

I am speaking specifically to your statement:

Racism is a disease of white people. They need to fix it themselves. Get it through your head!!

Why would they do that? Just because black people are over here being carefree and worrying about themselves? That is not how it works. Throughout history black people have been minded their own business and worrying about themselves and their self worth and you know what happened. Black wall street, the bombing in Philly, bombing of churches, Rosewood, ect...

You are right black people should have the right to be carefree, peaceful and angry but that is not reality. That is not the real world. People are mad at black people being mad about this. Even now times are changing, white people don't even worry about being "politically correct" any more. Since Obama ran for the first presidency there has been blatant disrespect, blatant line stepping. Being Black in America it would be a disservice to yourself to be carefree you are in a hostile environment.

Not to get my @PhonZhi on but a big reason the older generation was bout it is because the leaders/voices/public speakers were bout it. So it was nothing for them to follow suit. Nowadays who is really out there? Rappers are our youths leaders, I guarantee you if a Drake/Jay or somebody big said /did something the youth would follow.

shyt like this will scare white folks. nikkas really think that having weapons don't deter people. nikkas need to follow the logic. White people will not attack you if you have a weapon vs those who don't. Stated from a white supremacist terrorist himself just a few days ago.

should the jews have cared what the germans thought right before the holocaust? you keep trying to make this about white approval when no one is asking whites to approve of our response--mainly, because whites absolutely LOVE this passive religious shyt.

now make up your mind. did the church folk apologize out of fear of a racial backlash, or because they're genuinely capable of forgiving someone less than 24 hrs after they've slaughtered your loved ones?
