Police killed at least 1,054 people through November 27, 2022. I don't think this is a bad thing....

Those countries aren't run by gun lobbies and the police are actually accountable

That's a factor but, sadly, I see some indications that this is how the general public wants police to be. Take away the gun lobbies and a lot of Americans would still support ultra-violent cops because they believe that violence is the ultimate solution.

You're right but for another reason the American public is susceptible to lobbying
and indoctrination. You can't sell ammunition nor guns without embellishing threats.
Historically the police in the united states as a function worked to quash slave rebellions
and workers movements.

Sort of true but it passes the buck if we don't realize how widespread the indoctrination is. It's not like this is something just being pushed by the gun companies. It's a narrative that is pushed through "liberal" Hollywood, through the "liberal" news media, through "liberal" public school teachers, and has been nearly since the country was founded. I think we can turn the narrative around if we stop the indoctrination, but we won't stop it until we realize how deep it goes.

The lobbies hire and use marketing agencies just like any other lobbyist - that justifies that public expenditure.

Now on the other side - organized crime also sources their wares from them. So you got a drug dealer with a rehab centre....

This is America. $$$ over everything.

Where does indoctrination go? It can't be destroyed but changed.

It'll be indoctrination if its pro-guns or pro-violence. Crazy part is the crazies that see the opportunity in the switch and overwhelming the otherwise docile populace
