Seeing the vid I'm inclined to say it was a terrible accident. I'm betting that cop feels horrible about this.

His uncle made the grave mistake of not informing the fukking officer that his nephew was still behind. Did the gun discharge when the officer was trying restrain(with his gun drawn) the victim as he dropped to the floor?

Is it always policy to shoot first ask questions later? or is it just when you know(think you know) the suspect is armed?

In the case of an armed robbery, it is police procedure to have weapons drawn. I do agree it was an accident but I still think the city should pay damages. An unarmed bystander was shot and died later.

To the people asking how he died from a shot to the shoulder. ENTIRELY POSSIBLE. Dont let Hollywood fool you. A shot to any part of your body is potentially fatal. It doesnt have to be a head or chest wound to kill you. At close range too, which according to the story is how the shot was fired, that bullet hit the victim at maximum velocity and turned his shoulder area to jell-o. The largest arteries in your body are found near the shoulder, chest, and neck areas. It could have been ruptured killing him rather quickly.

this ain't the movies breh. it probably severed a major artery, internal bleeding, etc

Beat me to it. These dudes really dont understand how fragile the human body is and just how powerful a gun is.

I don't see him "running straight into the cop". it looks like the cop made a move to try to take him down

nobody talking about the unexplained internal damage to the young man's colon and rectum that added to the sever bleeding and death?

NYPD kept the coroner's report real hush hush.
