I'm just reading up on Champions. This is basically a official version of Pokemon Showdown. Or i guess just a modern version of Pokemon Stadium. Take all the nonsense out and just focus on the battles itself. Also it looks like it's gonna support ALL battle formats cause they showed Megas vs Dynamax (So assume Z moves and Tera Types will also be here as well)

Probably will be limited to one (battle gimmick) per team.

This is one of the best things they could do at this point of the series honestly outside of a full fledged MMO(Something that i do not trust Gamefreak with lol)

I would say modern version of Stadium. And almost assuredly the official platform of VGC sanctioned tournaments a leagues going forward.

People are thinking Showdown is gonna replaced by this but I doubt it. Nintendo and the Pokemon Company could've been shutdown Showdown but they haven't. From what I can tell they actually like Showdown because they don't cross the line by monetizing or damaging the brand and it serves a real purpose that benefits Nintendo from a brand a revenue perspective and that won't change. Plus the Pokemon Company has made some of their assets available for use in Showdown (mostly music).

Cyndaquil line got a regional variant in Legends Arceus.

Assuming the ZA starters are all getting brand new mega forms they probably didn't want to give cyndaquill a new mega form as well when it just got a new regional form and the other 2 johto starters didn't.

Cyndaquill will also probably just be able to be caught in the wild. They been allowing starters to be caught in the wild in recent games.

There was a leak last year that had unfinished/scrapped pokemon and supposed backgrounds to a couple that made release

Typhlosion's was he lured children and abused/killed them and since the leak had all this other official looking shyt, people ran with that as GameFreak's real cyndaquil evolution line story when it was really fanfic from an ex employee

Just read about it, they wanted to include lore of a shape-shifting Typhlosion that a young girl meets/fall in love with and has a half pokemon child with. Her father kills him and she and her kid are chased away by villagers.
