I stash mine, unless you have a very rare pokemon, you'll almost always find a higher cp one in the wild.
I would save it for fully evolved/ rare pokemon that have already have a high cp.

Pretty much this. Invest in Pokemon that are rare or have a good move list otherwise stack them. You want to have Pokemon in gyms y'all try and get as many gyms as y'all can within a two hour span then turn around and collect your rewards from the shop it gives you a ton of star dust once some of my Pokemon out of the gyms I can level them over the 1.1k cp range.
