gotta see the full lineup and pricing, but this may be a big deal for cord cutters.

This is sony we talking about, the same dudes who blocked EA Access and wants you to pay $30 to rent MGS4 for 30days
The price will be more than its worth. And since I can drop a link to a website that has every show on there free to stream, then things like Hulu+/etc. I don't believe sony is competent enough to pull it off
Plus Microsoft has a much bigger thing coming soon anyway Sony just trying to steal some thunder before the actual storm comes

Problem was Microsoft were putting, or were appearing to put, media above games. Hence the backlash - TV functionality was neither here nor there, it was Microsoft's obsession with it that was the problem.

If I'm not mistaken, this is a stand-alone service that isn't dependent on having cable and running it through the console, correct?

I look @ the quality of PSN, then I look at the pricing of Gaikai
And then I temper my expectations.. even tho my expectations are it'll be a combo of those two services above

nikkas shyt on XBox One because they were acting like they were doing you a favor by allowing you use your own cable box on their console. Plus they marketed the TV experience on even footing with the gaming experience.

They didn't want to watch TV through a game console it should just focus on game. Now their ears are perking up at the chance to use a game console for TV.

You're trying way too hard to find something that isn't there. What "stans" in this thread specifically do you see are hyped up about watching TV?? Sony fans aren't a hive minded entity, we're all individuals so I'd like it if you can cross reference folks who shat on TV watching on Xbox One and is in this thread hyped up about it.Your stretch to find hypocritical posters is kind of thin right now. You saw my post in this thread where I poked fun at someone being excited for this. Personally I won't use it as I pretty much never watch TV .

Also a new service doesn't change the priority of what the PS4 was introduced as. How you came to this conclusion when they literally just released a big gaming feature(shareplay) just about a week ago is weird.

People shytted on Microsoft for their horrible reveal and horrible draconian like DRM they were trying to implement. Starting off your new system reveal by focusing on some extraneous media centric feature is backwards imo. Microsoft's nebulous introduction for the XB1 and the perception they received because of that is all their own doing.

Likewise for PS4 the perception that it's a box that only plays games is due to their messaging also but in reality we know Sony always prioritized GAMES for PS4 first and everything else secondary. A new service doesn't suddenly cause Uncharted 4 to be cancelled.

Breh, they are potentially offering a competitive service that will allow me to cancel my cable if I so choose. Who would be mad at that and when did Xbox do that? If Sony offered to use my PS4 as a filter for my cable box that already works fine, why would I praise that?
