Stop it. Will and Margot were fine. Not saying they were Academy Award performances but they still weren't the fukking EMBARRASSMENT, that's right, EMBARRASSMENT that was Leto's performance. Not saying he's a bad actor in general either, he has been good in other flicks, but whatever the the fukk he was going for in SS was not it at all. It's the reason why he's not getting another shot at the character. Make all the excuses you want for him but that's the truth.
Also you're contradicting yourself. You say Will and Margot were bad, but then a second later you're saying the fact they had more screen time advanced their performances. Which one is it? If they were bad, it would be more evident because they were given more time in the movie to suck. Leto had minimal screen time to embarrass himself and did while Will/Margot had maximum screen time to embarrass themselves and didn't. End of story.
And stop blaming the script for ALL of the choices HE MADE. Did the dialogue on the page have him sending pig ears and dead birds and all that other weirdo cac shyt he was doing to his fellow cast members? No. Sure, a bad script can affect performances, but in this case, his worst impulses as an actor and a desire to overact and go for gimmicks are the real reason why he came off like juggalo Ace Ventura.
So his performance wasn't made bad because he was cut out of the film. He was cut out of the film because HIS PERFORMANCE WAS BAD. If you can't discern that difference then you are the one who doesn't know shyt about movies. AND THE SCENES HE SHOT THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT WERE CUT OUT BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT THE WORLD TO SEE MORE OF THAT GARBAGE LMAO.
Also tell me is Gunn bringing back Leto for Suicide Squad 2? Nope, but Margot just so happens to be the star of the next one. That's because her performance was better. Point blank period. But tell me how I don't know shyt about movies again.
