Players you would take over Pippen to start a franchise

What is the criteria for the list? If all players who ever played are eligible then their are to many to name, which is no disrespect to Pip. If you are talking just the current generation then i would say Bron KD CP3 Dwight Tim in his prime, Kg, D-Wade, Kobe, D Rose are all players you would start your team with before you drafted Scottie.
It's current players right now in 2012.

If going by players that are playing right now and with them in there primes, I would take:
Kobe, Bron, KG, Duncan, Dirk, Wade, Durant, and that is really it. I was gonna say CP3, but
Pippen was a great ball handler in his own right and was a great defender as well, its a hard one, but I would take Prime Scottie>Prime CP3. But, if we are going by in NBA history, I would probably take about 35-40 players I would take over Scott Pippen.

Is pippen even a top 10 Small forward all time? there's at least three playing right now that i'd take over him. Durant, Melo, and Lebron. although the rest like rudy gay, danny granger and deng i'd take after Pippen. all time there is quite a few more i'd take over him. Larry Bird, Dominique Wilkins, Elgin Baylor, Julius Erving, Havlicek.
But i'd take pippen over certain legends like James Worthy, Rick Barry, or Paul Pierce. So i guess that makes Pippen the ninth best small forward all time in my estimation. so if you to take the top 8 from every other position to start your franchise with that would equal at least 40 players you'd have to take before pippen depending on how much you value each spot.

I'd definitely take Lebron over Pippen. But i'd take pippen over durant any day of the week. You guys need to go watch some Old Bulls games. P

yeah easily i'd durant over pippen, and melo the way he's playing right now i'd take over pippen too. pippen was a great defender but offensively he was no better than danny granger or rudy gay. good for maybe 20 points in a given but he contributes more in other ways which makes him a very good complimentary piece. but not a piece i would build around.

Pip might be a better all-around player than a lot of guys, but you're not building a championship team around him. You're gonna need a killer in the fourth quarter, a guy who can get you big buckets, or a dominant big man. That's why Pippen would be taken so low by me if I started a franchise.
Now, if I already had a dominant scorer, then Pippen would probably be one of the first guys I'd take as a complementary piece (right after Garnett).
exactly. it seems like the nba darn near wrote the years when jordan was gone out of the record books. dudes in here trippin with the granger/gay comparisons.
the only current players i'd take over pippen are lebron, rose, prime kobe & prime duncan.
and i'll draft wade too, even tho pippen is better. wade would be a more ideal choice to build a franchise around tho.
the rest of these dudes being mentioned: the melos, durants, cp3s, dwights, etc. theyre moreso 1a guys rather than #1s . these dudes arent raking in 50 win seasons in the mid-90s with their best teammates being horrace grant & bj armstrong. no disrespect to them. they made the all-star game that year, btw.

pippen couldve easily had more 50-win seasons at the helm.
durant needs westbrook. theyre already taking a noticeable dip with harden's departure and he was just the 6-man.
melo needed iverson & billups in denver to get to 50 wins., and now stoudemire is the new 1b.

i hate to dissappoint you but this isnt my thread buddy. sounds like you have a personal axe to grind. and please point out the "wrong facts" that you claim i posted.
youre getting on pippen for having one 50+ win season as thee guy while alot of the names being thrown around in here dont have any at all....and they played against weaker competition.
