He recognized it in House Party 2. Thats why he made amends and sold his car because he recognized he put Kid in a bad position and that his friendship and brotherhood with Kid was worth more than his most prized material possession.

Remember when Kid was in jail in part 1? Who did he call? Play! And Play rounded up the homies and made sure Kid had the bail money so he didn’t have to call his father, who was already head hunting for him

Everyones got a friend like that. The dynamic is what made it realistic as some people give and others just take :dame:

Yet they always seem to link up, especially in school.

The thing is the Player who Plays like Play often genuinely doesn't think they are doing the other any harm as they are so self centered that they come first in every single deal whilst the Kids who get Kidded like Kid know whats up but soak it up because they know the other is cooler/has more flex and almost expects to get the worse side of the deal but its better than playing Frisbee alone. Some people are just born to be Player 2. Get in where you fit in...

Taking it to a large scale if you ever study the energetic flux of social interactions in your own life and world at large it really makes you think because people are obviously far wiser than they realize/have a higher intelligence at play due to how often the scenarios play out.

I think everybody that watched the house party movies knew this lol. That’s what made the movie work honestly. And I think the characters are loosely based on their real world personalities if I’m not mistaken

Play was an a$$hole, it was part of his charm. It’s the reason he like AJ Johnson in the first movie cause she knew how to counter his usual tactics that always get him his way with women.

But he had a good heart, he knew when he was wrong on something and would go out his way to make things right. All you can really ask for in a good friend

Now Class Act was a different story though.

The dynamic in this one was very interesting as well in the sense that a reputation is only worth something to those that are aware/care about it, in which case you can get away with plenty in the present due to what you've done in the past. Social proof goes a long way to defining roles and this the streets know well...

Same thing with education, if people think you're smart based on rep then even if you say something stupid they'll think they're the ones that are too dim to get it because you're on a whole nother level. Modern Art exploits this foible a lot because a lot of them are straight up trolls. People fall for it though because they want to seem like they're with it and know the intent, get the message and decode the frequency even if there really is nothing there to be seen at all. Emperors new clothes in full effect is the hallmark of the modern world.

Back to Class Act, it really highlighted the differences between educational systems based on wealth/poverty not only what they teach but how, resources allocated, sizes of the class, social environment etc.. ironically those who need the most get the least and here we are.

There's loads of commentary in every aspect of the movie, watch it again with an open mind and fully grown eyes and you'll see what I mean... Even the title works on many levels.
