yes obviously. but mike had multiple broken hands from street fights in his career. you just cant punch people that hard without breaking your hand. theres a reason those old barr knuckle fights used to go like 50 rounds. because the human hand isnt built to punch full force. especially if you have the power of mike tyson lol.

They went to the body way more than the head, it's what made bareknuckle matches so long. Throws would be considered knock downs as well so the inside fighting became drawn out as they fought for a dominant grip and clinch. It happens, the bones in the hand are small but not "with every punch he throws". That was my point.

Not exactly, they wrap MMA hands up heavy specifically to avoid this. Their gloves also were designed to prevent breaks along with still being able to grapple. They have less padding so the blows have less of a surface area which results in more penetration and more knock outs. In any combat sport, combatants will break their hands, not just boxers. This is why in bare hand Kyokushin they don't allow punches to the face, too many broken hands...
