I remembered being so confused and disappointed when C3 dropped and kept trying to force myself to like it. I was listening to Wayne every damn near every day for like 2 years leading up to it and I just knew it was gonna be heat based on all of the throwaways. I swear I was listening to Mr. Carter and Dr. Carter trying to will them to be dope, but was feeling like Randy from South Park.

3peat wasn't as good as I'm Me.
La La wasn't as good as La La La.

All of the other album cuts didnt hit me like World of Fantasy, Kush, Scarface, I Feel Like Dying, Trouble, Gossip, etc. So after a few weeks of trying to bump it I gave up and just went back to my pre-release Carter 3 with the leaks.

I think that whole disappointing period broke the spell I had with Wayne in general.

honestly its not. classic maybe for the moment. the album itself is just good

it didnt age well
In your opinion. Music is subjective but the general consensus agrees that it’s a classic so you’re in the minority :yeshrug:

C3 is like 1 million away from being certified diamond too :blessed:

Streamer culture is so wack. You have this dude playing dressup in front of his computer, probably applying lip gloss and painting his nails, and then these kids are holding their breath whether he's going to bob his head to some music or give a little frown :russ: The album sounds exactly the same as it did back then. If anything, it aged well because it popularized punching in bars, leaking songs for promo and acting and looking like a fakkit, all things his generation is obsessed with.

Better as it aged to me….in real time I was mad it wasn’t the leaks…and some of the singles I hated (Mrs Officer and Got Money) have become Sunday brunch set classics

A girl gave me some ass cause i was able to get the leak off SOHH back in college.

It may have not aged as well as other late 2000's projects, but C3 songs definitely hit at parties/club in a way that kid won't be able to understand.

If you weren't drunk off 4Loko with a girl backing it up like jrrp jrrp.... i don't expect you to really connect with it.
