Managed to get a ticket for nothing w/ Fandango so checking it out during the week. Saw that the movie killed it in the box office for opening weekend.

Doesn’t hold a candle to the first, I guess OD’ing on anxiety is a shout out to this generation of anxious, socially awkward, neurodivergent kids, but it leaned into villainous territory

Best animation of its kind in the 2020's. Of it's kind is like "The Bad Guys", Sing 2. Not Spiderverse. This could have been a classic if the villian was written differently. I like alot of the new characters, especially my ngga E. And no pride month, except for maybe 1 character. If they were it wasn't explicit.

should have written Anxiety more like a Toy Story villian. For example, fear and anxiety go hand and hand for alot people. Fear should have been under anxiety control. Should have been more persuasive

It was fine, and a better sequel than what The Incredibles had. But as far as future viewings go, I’d probably just watch the OG instead with the kids and call it a day.

Making a movie that both the children and adults can enjoy is a difficult task, so while this wasn’t as impactful as the first to me, it still hits most of the right notes in that regard. Pixar are masters at it. No shocker it’s putting a lot of asses in seats right now.

If :youngsabo: was an Inside Out emotion, he would definitely be Anxiety. Stay doing way too much, lol.

Honestly, I don't think Aniexty is meant to be seen as a villain as much as she highlights why none of the emotions should be the showrunner, including Joy herself. This builds on what she learned with Sadness in the first movie, knowing that she can't shut or put away the other emotions and instead works alongside them to make Riley more complete. Interestingly, both movies chip away at the controlling and possessive facets of Joy that would make her a villain in other Pixar movies.

Not as good as the first one. Anxiety was pretty good butby and large the emotions controlling Riley stuff is already outplayed.

They played it safe.

Mediocre. Not bad. Kept the same story and added a few new ingredients to add a tiny bit of variety.

After 2 watches, you should catch all of the psychology references.
