I wouldn't trust WWE to tastefully / properly execute a gay "storyline". That's not even a slight at their creative staff tbh, it just hardly makes sense for there to be some kind of "gay storyline" on a professional wrestling TV show. It sounds like what Stephanie wants to do is actually center a story around Finn Balor coming out as gay, when the nuanced and tasteful thing to do would be to establish that as Finn's identity somehow and just let it breathe/exist and not shine an effervescent light on it, pretty much how it would be for real TV shows with gay characters or if an athlete came out in real life.

Plus I don't know how tasteful it is to have the first gay character and the only gay representation to be played by a straight person. It works for a TV show, but for WWE probably not

Above all, something like that requires a lot of consistent tasteful gesturing and from people who are in touch, something neither Vince nor Stephanie are.

Sexual preference and race should never be part of the show, especially in 2018. What's the benefit of making a character gay? Will his/her opponent gay bash them in the feud? That'll be great PR for the company
