Not as much as Trinidad Carnival. It's also possible that he could've missed the flight to Trinidad and since they were shooting at a specific time and place there'd be no point of flying out there if he was going to miss it. He probably wasn't able to make it to Trinidad for some reason. After playing the song back just to see if your point made sense it really doesn't. Jay always had money and he wasn't one of those rappers who were here today as gone tomorrow. He was already established and had been balling. Pimp C was talking about rappers faking it and Jay was far from that.

After watching that Big Gipp interview, I'm convinced Pimp only agreed to record that song once he figured out he would diss Jay on his own song.

It's already well known that Pimp was adamant in his belief that it would hurt UGK's career, fukkin with a nikka like Jay.

Then in the interview, Gipp said he was there when Bun was talking to Pimp on the phone about recording the song with Jay, and Pimp was like, "I don't fukk with that man!"

He refuses to appear in the video with them.

"fukk I'm going to Trinidad for?"

Stands them up, then proceeds to fly to Miami, and shoot his own scenes, while in essence, talking shyt to Jay the whole time, in his own video.

:wow:

"nikkas be up, watch em fall
nikka, I don't fukk wit y'all
If I wasn't rappin baby
I would still be ridin Mercedes
.....now what y'all know about them Texas boys?"

Insightful Big Gipp (Goodie Mob) Interview With B High (Hot 107.9)

Pimp is a legend but also a known hater

so it really doesn't matter. If it wasn't for Bun B he would have not did this or the song with Outkast.

That would have been an L for UGK.

all off some crab mentality.

He wasn't a hater, he just stuck to his principles.

He wanted UGK to remain Underground.

He didn't give a shyt about pop stars like Jay Z.

He didn't really fukk with New York nikkas at all.

So Cal
He didn't go to the video shoot in Trinidad because he was afraid to fly over water. Then he was given 60K by a drug dealer to buy the Benz in the video. Then he took Gloria Velez off the set and fukked her all weekend. :ehh:
don't forget to mention he did that after he found out she was being saved for scenes with Jay.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
:stopitslime:

Pimp came up in the late 80s/early 90s.

His attitude towards East Coast nikkas is understandable
East coast nikkas fukked wit south acts. He can't blame the 80s because hip hop started here of course it was gonna get the most traction and all the trends was gonna come from here. There was South acts who always got love from NY such as Geto Boyz etc. like I said before. U had certain DJs n shyt like that who was hating but that whole NY hated everyone else shyt is a myth. We fukked wit the Westcoast heavy as well. If the shyt was dope we fukked wit it. Meanwhile I got fam all thru the south and used to go down there every summer. ATL, South Carolina. Florida, North Carolina etc etc. and nikkas was more on they own shyt than ours and I actually witnessed more flat out hate down there honestly. Bottom line every region has bias towards they own shyt.
