I chose those as examples of the norm.

You can look at a show like The Real World as a show that perpetuates racial angst and conflict. The directors plant certain individuals in a house and edit shows a way to provide racial elements.

The truth here is, is this really sports news? It shouldn't be, because it's just a dumb ass sign that has nothing to do with any game being played or any players performance. But because they can do a little spin on it, they use it.

The ends to the means is always ratings. Get used to it, is it a good thing? No, but it's not going anywhere.

Sports is already an area that is completely draped in racial tension, just look at this board.

Hey man. The name's Godwin. You?

You're 100% right.

For that clown to parlay a sign directed at ONE MAN to that of which indiscriminately discriminated an entire group of people is beyond retarded.

He needs to be open hand smacked.

The thought that having that sign up in ANYWAY reflected on ALL white people is so got damn absurd. I mean, it never EVER even entered into my mind.

WTF is SAS projecting here???

You do know that the only reason 'they' would be allowed to scream that is because, you know, segregation and racism actually happened/happens to them, right, and not to me and you, right?

Give me a break. Not a soul in this damned thread has experienced any type of racial discrimination. Do you understand me? If anything you and I are the ones that are constantly singled out and accused because of our skin color. I won't stand for that.

LOL @ "singled out" online equaling institutional discrimination practices.

My whole point is you're giving E!spn too much credit, we all know it sucks and pulls stunts like this.

To bytch about it is silly, it's been doing this for 10 years now. Your problem is you're giving television in general too much credit. First Take also has Lil Wayne as one of the guests to discuss sports too. Why would you take it serious in the first place

You seem to be rREAAAAAAAAAALLY late on the notion that E!spn is full of bullshyt and now you're complaining about it.
It's not even about taking it serious, he's a sports journalist (again I used that only for the sake of argument) conjuring up a non-existent racial element about a story related to a larger topic that could have huge ramifications in the sports world.

As a black man AND a sports journalist or hell even an sports analyst as they sometimes like to call themselves, it is incredibly irresponsible.

First Take is not like (for example) the way John Stewart and Colbert satirize the news on Comedy Central. Comedy Central is a comedy based channel.

ESPN is based on reporting on sports and sports news.

I agree with you fully, it is irresponsible. I`m just saying they don't give a fukk about responsibility and they haven`t for years now.

E!spn's image is based on reporting sports and sports news, but they're far from a great source for sports news. And I thought everyone knew this for years

All you're saying is E!spn is shyt and they're irresponsible, I agree.
