Not true, like I said in the earlier my mom bleaches and ppl don't know till I tell them.

She doesn't use a strong one, mixes the shyt herself, and doesn't use it a lot or often. She got that shyt down to a science.

This is becoming so common that you can tell a person is Jamaican if they have the bleached skin look. Zombie looking skin with some dark ass lips. It's hard not to look disgusted in front of them.

Saw this Jumbie live up the fukking Airport when he came in to do a show. Girl I was with had the heart to try and ask to borrow my phone to take a picture.
Not to be mean'n'shyt but I really don't get down with these cake soap using, skinny jeans wearing Yardie fukkboys at all. Bad enough Some Jamaican man want to roll like them run the route in other man country, but how the fukk I suppose to fear you in Blood red Clarks and stone wash tight pants with 3 inch wide legs, breh? fukk most all that shyt.

Two things to think about.

1. I don't think we should constantly be pointing the finger at white people in every instance of bleaching, especially when it's a woman who is bleaching. Black men everywhere prefer lighter skinned women. Not a white woman, but typically a lighter skinned woman with certain traditionally African physical features (thicker lips & rounder azz).

2. As far as men bleaching, the reasoning gets a bit murkier. Black women don't have the same overwhelming preference for light skinned men. Darker men are still considered more masculine by many. But I will say that popular Black male entertainers are more feminized than EVER. And being a walking spectacle is more profitable than EVER. I no longer follow dancehall music, so I would not know who this young man was if he didn't bleach his skin. I am curious enough that I will probably throw his name into youtube.

People are quick to say "self-hatred", but it's a little more complicated than that. No one screams self hatred when they see a person with braces on their teeth. For some, it is simply a way to fit in, or get ahead. Sad that it has come to that, but honestly I think that's where a lot of this comes from.
